Fikja is a device that is designed to help kids with strong cases of ADHD go through their day with a better ability to focus and collaborate on today’s world. With features such as rewards and consequences, reminders to hyper-focus, and of course fidgeting!
This project exists due to my extensive research into ADHD and with primary and secondary research, as well as some contextual research I was able to determine what I found as important elements that would help or aid in the life of a child with ADHD. The way Fikja would charge is by placing it on its wireless charging dock which also functions as a night light to create a better environment for the child at night. Moreover, Fikja comes with a companion app which the parent is completely in charge of.
After the extensive research I continued my process by exploring form with several hand drawn sketches as well as 3D Modeling in Solidworks and rendering utilizing Keyshot. And finally creating a look a like prototype with 3D prints and wet sanding and some nice looking acrylic paint.
Fikja is NOT a parent, but it is a tool that a parent/guardian might be able to use to help facilitate their child’s behavior and life as they grow through these critical times.
